For many survivors of trauma and substance abuse, traditional talk therapy is only part of the picture. The body stores what the mind tries to process; for survivors of sexual assault, trafficking, and abuse, that stored pain can manifest as chronic tension, dissociation, addiction, and an inability to feel safe in one’s own skin. These survivors often fall through the gaps of conventional treatment.
Our Approach
Inner Gold workshops offer a different pathway. Each monthly session brings survivors together in a safe, facilitated space for a full day of expressive healing through three evidence-informed modalities:
Dance and Movement — reconnecting survivors with their bodies through guided, trauma-informed movement
Music and Sound Healing — using rhythm, melody, and vibration to access emotions that live beneath language
Visual Arts and Creative Writing — giving form to the invisible through hands-on creative expression
Every session is kept intentionally small to ensure each participant feels held, seen, and safe. Space is limited to ten participants per session.
The Impact
Inner Gold doesn’t just treat symptoms. It meets survivors where traditional approaches often can’t: in the body, in sound, in the act of creating something from pain. Participants leave not “fixed,” but reconnected: to their bodies, to their voices, to the possibility that their story is still being written.
What Your Donation Funds
There is no cost to participants, ever. Every Inner Gold workshop is made possible entirely by donors. Your contribution directly covers the following, as well as other purposes consistent with our non-profit goals:
Facility rental: a private, accessible, calming space
Workshop facilitators: fair compensation for credentialed specialists
Meals and refreshments: because breaking bread together is part of healing
Art and music supplies: materials for every participant
Liability insurance: protecting both participants and the organization
Transportation assistance: ensuring access for those who need it most
Increased workshop availability: expanding workshop duration and locations
When you give to The Kintsugi Foundation, you’re not funding a program in the abstract. You’re funding the specific moment a survivor moves their body freely for the first time in years. The moment they hear a sound that unlocks something they’ve been carrying alone. The moment they look at what they’ve created and realize, maybe for the first time, that there is still so much beauty inside.
The Kintsugi Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. EIN: 83-2484442. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donations are used at the discretion of the Kintsugi Foundation in support of its mission and vision.
