Some wounds don't have words yet. They live in the body — in tension, in stillness, in the breath you've been holding for longer than you remember.
Inner Gold is a free, one-day workshop for survivors of trauma and substance abuse. Art, movement, writing, dance and a closing sound bath, shared with other people who understand — led by working artists, in a small group.
What the day looks like
Times are approximate
11:00 Arrival, coffee, and a welcome from Anouska and Sue
11:30 Art — hands-on work with real materials, yours to take home
12:45 Movement — guided and gentle, no experience needed
2:00 Creative writing — nothing read aloud unless you want it read
3:00 Lunch together, provided
3:45 Dance — step by step instruction; no experience needed
5:00 Break / record testimonials if so inspired
5:30 Sound bath with Ursula — the day closes lying down, in sustained sound (blanket helpful)
6:30 Farewell
Nothing is performed and nothing is shared unless you want to share it. You can sit out any part of the day.
What to bring
A yoga mat (if you have a favorite), a light blanket, and a water bottle. Wear something comfortable you can move in. Everything else — art materials, lunch, coffee — is provided. Parking is limited, so public transportation, rideshare, or carpooling are encouraged.
How to apply
Spaces are limited, so we ask everyone to apply as early as possible. The application is short: your contact details, a brief reflection on where you are in your healing, and a confidential wellness check-in so we can make sure the day is a good fit right now. Every application is read by a real person, and we'll reply within 3 days.
Creative expression, not therapy
Inner Gold is a creative workshop and a peer space. It is not therapy, not treatment, and not a substitute for either. Our facilitators are artists, not clinicians, and there is no clinical assessment or diagnosis involved.
If you are in crisis or need clinical support, we've gathered crisis lines and treatment referrals on our Resources page. In an emergency, call or text 988.
A note on photography
We sometimes photograph or record at workshops to share what we do. You'll be asked in advance, in writing, and you can decline — it changes nothing about your place in the day. Nothing you say in a session is recorded.
Supporting the work
Inner Gold is free to participants and funded entirely by donations — the space, the facilitators, the materials, and the meals shared together.
